The first coffee shop I visited in London was Java U, which is very close to Aldgate Tube Station. After walking all day long, I could not resist enjoying a warm cup of coffee at Java U.
The place is spacious, clean and cosy with long tables, comfortable sofas, counters, lots of seats and excellent lighting. They have wi-fi which is great to work or sit down for a little, sipping your cup of coffee. There are also good bathrooms for customers. The service is great! I’ve been there three times and the attendants are always smiling.
Speaking about the coffee, they use the House Blend of Union hand-roasted coffee This blend has an intense and slightly sweet taste, with some roasted nuts notes.
As always, I ordered the cappuccino and I liked it a lot: the milk was creamy in the right measure.
Besides coffee, Java U has several beverage options, such as juices, teas, softdrinks and smoothies. They also always have croissants, muffins, sandwiches and fruits.
Java U is a franchise original from Montreal, Canada. It began in 1996 at Concordia University, and in 2002 became a franchise, with hundreds of units around the world.
